Introducing HOPEkeeping
I am so excited to introduce my passion project that has been years in the making! For several years, I have wanted to help more people get organized (especially their photos and videos) because I believe everyone should be able to enjoy their memories and not worry about them.
Introducing HOPEkeeping!
This new membership community will begin with a focus on digital photo/video organizing but will eventually include learning about better ways of doing almost anything related to photos and organizing. This may include such things as sorting through printed photos, creating a photo book for a special event, email management, or organizing your kids’ toys. The founding members will have the opportunity to decide on the topics we will cover because I want this community to help YOU!
How does it work?
Each month members will get the following:
Training videos
Each month there will be one topic of focus. For example, in August 2022, the topic will be collecting all of your digital photos. Notice it is specific and covers one part of digital photo organizing, not every part of it because that would be overwhelming.
Some months, there be one training video, and some months there may be several but that doesn’t mean you have to watch them all. For example in August, there will be training on how to use a variety of programs to transfer phone photos to your computer. You only need to watch the one that you want to use. Some months there may be one video that talks about a specific topic that is not dependent on certain software or type of computer or phone.
PLEASE NOTE: You will have access to these training videos for as long as you are a member of the HOPEkeeping community. You are welcome to watch these videos at any time that works for you! Don’t have time this month, no worry watch it next month or a year from now.
Q & A Zoom calls
Each month we will have an hour-long community call to ask questions! The first 30 minutes will focus on the current month’s topic but then it will be open to ask any other questions. With Zoom, we can share screens and I will have the ability to even jump on your computer to help you through an issue.
Coworking sessions
This is your opportunity to lean into the community and schedule time to work on your projects. Again, we will meet on Zoom (at least once a month) to work on YOUR project of the moment and have a team of others cheering you on. In fact, I am writing this blog during a coworking session in one of my favorite online communities, Hour League.
Facebook Group
Another chance to lean into the HOPEkeeping community and ask questions and celebrate your wins. If you finish gathering all your digital images share them here. You printed a special photo and shared it with someone, share it here.
Why the name HOPEkeeping?
Merriam-Webster defines keeping as responsibility for the safety and well-being of someone or something!
Here are a few keeping terms that really connected with me.
Memory keeping
- anything you do to document your memories for you or someone else to review and or reflect on later
Recordkeeping
- the act of keeping track of the history of a person’s or organization’s activities, generally by creating and storing consistent, formal records
Housekeeping
- refers to the management of duties and chores involved in the running of a household, such as cleaning, cooking, home maintenance, shopping and bill payment. This is more broad role than a cleaner, who is focused only on the cleaning aspect.
Safekeeping
- preservation in a safe place
